$ 475.00 |
Verne, Jules. THE MYSTERY OF THE FRANKLIN. Mistress Branican. London: Sampson low, Marston & Company, n.d. [1928?]. 32 pp undated ads ("School Stories and Tales of Adventure for Girls and Boys"). Original red cloth decorated in black, with dust jacket.
This appears to be the first time that this tale (MISTRESS BRANICAN) was published with this title -- which according to T&M was in September 1928. It is priced at two shillings sixpence, and has only a frontispiece for illustrations. The volume is in red cloth decorated with warships under sail; the dust jacket front panel shows two very white people, on camels, searching... The volume is in fine condition; the scarce jacket is very good (spine faded, internal reinforcement at the spine ends that has bled through a bit). See Taves & Michaluk V038.
