It starts off:~On the evening of July 13, 1863, two men left their homes, one in Washington and one in Buffalo, under circumstances strangely similar. Each had received a letter in the morning mail, which he had quickly destroyed. Each had given evidence of strong and increasing agitation during the rest of the day...~MARKED "PERSONAL" was issued in wrappers, at fifty cents, or as here in gilt-decorated cloth, at $1.00.
