being Memoirs of the Adventures of David Balfour in the Year 1751: Written by Himself. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1886. Original printed yellow wrappers.
First American Edition, published on the very same day as Cassell's edition in London. Like that edition, this book is unillustrated except for the frontispiece foldout map.~This copy is in printed yellow wrappers; others (at a higher price) were issued simultaneously in pictorial red cloth. Condition is good-to-very good (wrapper chipped at the bottom of the spine with other minor edge-wear, some rear cover soil). This American edition (either binding) is considerably scarcer than the English one -- and the one in wrappers, as here, seldom turns up in any better condition. See Beinecke 383 (cloth copy only; no mention of this binding); Princeton 31A, copy 2. Item #13539
