First Edition of one of Norris's less-known (and scarcer) novels, taking place upon a voyage to the polar ice-cap. The first printing, as here, is identifiable by its cancel title leaf, and also by the pp 64-65 reading "the head of the bone pro- | truding." This is also the first and usual binding, with the publisher as on the title page (later copies were in a different binding, with "Doubleday, Page & Co.").~This copy is from the renowned western literature collection of Roger K. Larson (with his bookplate), and is in near-fine condition (spine very slightly faded). Blanck 15034. Item #13817
