First Illustrated Edition (which is to say, the second edition), which consisted of 2000 copies -- in addition to a 250-copy limited issue. A LITTLE TOUR IN FRANCE was first published, unillustrated, in 1884 (dated 1885) by Osgood of Boston. It was not published in England until sixteen years later, when this edition (designed by Bruce Rogers) came out along with a similar English edition.
