Illustrated. Boston: Little, Brown, and Company, n.d. . Original green cloth pictorially decorated in black and yellow, with pictorial dust jacket.
First Separate Edition. This is the second of eleven Alcott stories for girls that Little Brown published (with illustrations) during the years 1899-1904, more than a decade after her death. This tale originally appeared in MY GIRLS (1878); this is its first appearance by itself.
This volume is in fine, bright condition (there is a Christmas 1902 inscription to a girl). Included is the scarce dust jacket that reproduces the front cover's illustration; the jacket is near-fine, with very minor edge-wear plus a small hole in the lower spine. Blanck 226. Item #14143
