First (English) Edition, published on the same day as the American -- of which this is one of 500 large-paper copies signed by Kipling. This is a collection of 24 previously-published poems (plus a previously-UNpublished introductory poem), accompanied by 24 full-page color plates by Donald Maxwell. (As Richards points out, Maxwell -- related to Kipling by marriage -- had been an accomplished naval artist/correspondent during the Grear War, and was a frequent visitor at the Kiplings' "Bateman's.")
