London: Chatto & Windus, 1916. Original grey boards with purple cloth spine, with dust jacket.
First Edition of this essay that had lain dormant among Mrs. Stevenson's papers; after her death, her son Lloyd Osbourne had it published (4,000 copies), with his own preface -- uniform with THE WAIF WOMAN. In this copy, page 7 is paginated; in some it is not.~This is a fine copy; the scarce dust jacket is in very good condition (with minor soil but with very little wear -- it is usually not even present). Beinecke 702; Princeton 88. Item #2627
