Two Comedies. Tenants [and] Disengaged. New York: Harper & Brothers, 1894. Original yellow-green cloth decorated in gilt.
First Edition, American issue ("publication was probably simultaneous with the English issue"). The first and only printing (done in Great Britain) consisted of 1010 copies, of which 460 were used for Osgood McIlvaine's London edition and the other 550 were conveyed to Harper for the American issue. Though not so identified, this is the first series of THEATRICALS; two additional plays were published as the "Second Series" later in 1894. As always with this color cloth, the spine (plus some of the covers) is discolored to light brown; there are also a few tiny specks of wear at the spine ends. Supino 42.2.0; Edel & Laurence A42b.
